God Bless Texas
Founded on December 29, 1845, Texas has for many years represented grit, determination, and the American spirit. To be Texan is to be American, but more importantly -- Texan. It is home to people from Rio Grande to the Red River, Luckenbach to Laredo and the oil rigs in West Texas to the Kolaches in West, Texas.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, I know first-hand the cultural differences and opportunity gap between the Republic of Texas and the other 49 states. I couldn't be more proud to call Texas home. To quote Joe Patoski, "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could." There is nothing I'm more passionate about than Texas. I love the people, the food, the music, and definitely the real estate. When I'm not working or looking for real estate investments, you can catch me running, workout out or country dancing on a hardwood floor.
Within the DFW metroplex, there are a plethora of great dining options. I'm a big fan of both barbeque and Tex-Mex. For BBQ, I'd recommend 407 Barbecue in Argyle, The Feedstore in Southlake and Hutchins in Frisco. For Tex-Mex, I'd recommend Uncle Julio's, Pappasito's or Joe T Garcia's in the Stockyards. If you're looking for specific recommendations on what to get, I'd be more than happy to share!
The economic opportunity in Texas, and specifically the DFW metroplex, is unparalleled. Each and every year Dallas-Fort Worth is considered one of the top real estate markets in terms of quality of life, economic opportunity and long-term growth potential. Dozens of Fortune 500 Companies have moved their headquarters to the metroplex in recent years, and this trend is likely to continue over the coming decades. DFW is currently home to ExxonMobil (Irving), McKesson (Irving), AT&T (Arlington) Energy Transfer Partners, DR Horton, 7-Eleven, Capital One (Plano), Toyota (Plano), Citibank (Irving) and many more.
DFW also has a vibrant sports culture. Arlington, TX is home to AT&T Stadium and the Dallas Cowboys, but the team practices at The Star in Frisco, TX. Dallas boasts the Dallas Mavs and Dallas Stars. The DFW area is also home to the Texas Rangers and Six Flag's - a world-class amusement park.
